If you have lost your root password and can not access your VPS, you can recover it or even change it remotely via the Unihost Client Area.
- Log into Unihost Client Area.
- In the sidebar on the left click Services > My Services.
- Click Manage Product.
- On the Manage Product page, find the Root Password line and two buttons next to it. The i button displays your current password, while the pencil button allows you to change it.
It can take up to a minute to change the root password, and the VPS might reboot during it.
WARNING: If you set up your password via SSH/VNC/RDP, the password shown by clicking the i button won’t be correct. You will still be able to change it by clicking the Pencil button.
