To configure the RDP server, we need to go into the Server Manager.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Installing the RDP server<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

In the menu, in the upper right corner, select Manage > Add Roles and Features<\/strong>.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

This launches the Add Roles and Features Wizard<\/strong>. Click Next<\/strong> on the start page.<\/span><\/p>\n

Select Role-based or features-based installation<\/strong> and click Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Select a server from the list of suggested servers and click Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Check the box for Remote Desktop Services<\/strong> in the role list and click Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the components section, without marking anything, click Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

After reading the description of the Next<\/strong> service.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now we have to choose the roles to install. We will need Remote Desktop Licensing<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Agree to install the components by clicking on Add Features.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Also add the Remote Desktop Session Host<\/strong> role by clicking Add Features, <\/strong>t<\/span>hen click Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

After all the parameters and roles are added on the last page check the box Restart the destination server automatically if required<\/strong>, confirm by clicking Yes<\/strong>, and in the window that appears click Install<\/strong>\u00a0to start the installation.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Setting up an RDP server<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Now run the <\/span>“RD Licensing Diagnoser”<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(You can run it through the <\/span>“server manager” <\/b>by selecting <\/span>Tools<\/b> > <\/span>Terminal Services<\/b> > <\/span>RD Licensing Diagnoser<\/b> in the top right menu).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the <\/span>“RD Licensing Diagnoser”<\/b> we can see how many active licenses are added to the server, at the moment there are 0, because the configuration is not yet complete.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now we need to run <\/span>gpedit.msc<\/b>, you can do this via <\/span>RUN<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After <\/span>gpedit.msc<\/b> opens, you need to follow the path:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Computer Configuration ><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Administrative Templates ><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Windows Components ><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Remote Desktop Services ><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Remote Desktop Session Host ><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Licensing<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Open the file <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Use the specified Remote Desktop license servers\u201d<\/b>.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Activate by selecting <\/span>“Enabled”<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then fill in the table licensing server with the network name or IP address of the license server and click <\/span>“OK”<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Select the <\/span>“Set the Remote licensing mode” <\/b>file.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Activate by selecting <\/span>“Enabled”<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then we choose the mode that suits us:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Per User<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Per Device<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

After the configuration, close <\/span>gpedit.msc<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Go to <\/span>\u201cRemote Desktop Licensing Manager\u201d<\/b> (<\/span>Tools<\/b> > <\/span>Terminal Services<\/b> > <\/span>Remote Desktop Licensing Manager<\/b>).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Find our licensing server with the status <\/span>“Not Activated”<\/b>, right-click on it, and select <\/span>“Activate Server”<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The server activation service will start, click “<\/span>Next<\/b>“.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Choose “<\/span>Automatic connection<\/b>” as the default and click “<\/span>Next<\/b>“.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Enter information about the organization and then click “<\/span>Next<\/b>“.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Enter additional information about the organization (optional) and click “<\/span>Next<\/b>” again.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The licensing server is activated. Now you need to activate the licenses for the RDP server, click “<\/span>Next<\/b>” to do this.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The license activation service will start, click “<\/span>Next<\/b>“.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Choose the licensing program you need. Click “<\/span>Next<\/b>“.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Enter the number of the agreement and click “<\/span>Next<\/b>“.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Specify the product version, license type and number of licenses according to your licensing program. Click “<\/span>Next<\/b>“.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the License Manager we make sure that the server is running, and we also see the total and available number of installed licenses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Return to the “<\/span>RD Licensing Diagnoser<\/b>” and see that the number of licenses available to clients corresponds to what we entered in the previous step.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
