Non-standard RDP connection port.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

One possible problem with the connection is using a non-standard RDP port on the remote Windows server<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you can connect to a remote server via IPMI or other remote connection means, you can check which port the RDP uses.<\/span>
\nTo do this, you need to do the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

Open the editor (regedit.exe) and go to the <\/span>
\nHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\<\/span>
\nSystem\\<\/span>
\nCurrentControlSet\\<\/span>
\nControl\\<\/span>
\nTerminal Server\\<\/span>
\nWinStations\\<\/span>
\nRDP-Tcp;<\/span><\/p>\n

Find the parameter named PortNumber. This specifies the port for the RDP connection. (The default port is 3389)<\/span>
\nIf the remote server uses a non-standard port, you will need to specify the IP and port when connecting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Example: 1.1.1.1:448
\n<\/span>In case you cannot connect to the remote server, you can use the Nmap utility to determine the port to connect to.<\/span><\/p>\n

Linux:<\/span><\/strong>
\nnmap -Pn IP-server<\/span><\/p>\n

Windows:
\n<\/strong><\/span>Nmap can also be used for WIndows.<\/span>

In order to change the port to standard or non-standard, you need to go through the steps specified in section 1, only now open the PortNumber parameter, select Decimal, and specify the port.<\/span><\/p>\n

Note: If you use a non-standard port, you will need to open the port you specify in PortNumber. This can be done in the Windows Firewall settings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Disabled the ability to connect to a remote desktop.<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

When using the graphical interface, you need to perform the following steps:<\/span>
\nRun the command: SystemPropertiesRemote.<\/span>
\nThen you need to go to the Remote Settings tab.<\/span>
\nAnd check the box Allow remote connection to this computer.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Limiting session time<\/span><\/h2>\n

This may indicate that a session time limit has been set for all users who are logged in.<\/span><\/p>\n

To change the time limit, follow these steps:<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Run gpedit.msc
\n<\/span>2. Computer Configuration-> Admin Templates-> Windows Components-> Remote Desktop Services->Remote Desktop Session Host->Session Time Limits<\/span>
\n3. Enable the appropriate group policies and change them as needed.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Problem with remote desktop license (disconnection after 60 minutes)<\/span><\/h2>\n

You can do the following to solve this problem:<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Run the local group policy editor (gpedit.msc)<\/span>
\n2. In the left panel, go to:<\/span>
\nLocal Computer Policy-> <\/span>
\nComputer Configuration-><\/span>
\nAdministrative Templates-><\/span>
\nWindows Components-><\/span>
\nRemote Desktop Services-><\/span>
\nRemote Desktop Session Host-><\/span>
\nLicensing<\/span><\/p>\n

3. On the right pane, select: Use the specified Remote Desktop license servers and select Edit:<\/span>
\n\u00a0– In the Group Policy Editor dialog box, select Enabled<\/span>
\n\u00a0– Enter the name of the local computer in “License servers to use<\/span>
\n\u00a0– Next go to Remote Desktop licensing mode <\/span>
\n\u00a0– Set Per Device licensing mode<\/span><\/p>\n
