In this guide, we\u2019ll explain how to install Supabase on a virtual server from Unihost. For this example, we used a VPS model from the UNH<\/a> series.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/span>The installation process is based on the official documentation: <\/span>Self-Hosting with Docker<\/span><\/i><\/a>.<\/span>
<\/span>Docker was already pre-installed on our VPS, so the installation step is omitted in this guide. When placing your order, you can also choose an operating system image with Docker pre-installed \u2014 simply select the desired OS in the configurator.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Installing<\/p>\n

Now let\u2019s proceed with installing Supabase.<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Once you have received the credentials to access your server, connect to it via SSH using the following command:<\/span><\/p>\n

ssh root@SERVER_IP<\/span><\/pre>\n
After connecting to the VPS, make sure to update the system by running:<\/span><\/p>\n
apt update && apt upgrade -y<\/span><\/pre>\n
Next, follow the steps from the official Docker-based installation guide<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n
Clone the Supabase repository:<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n
git clone --depth 1 https:\/\/github.com\/supabase\/supabase<\/span><\/pre>\n
 Create a directory for the project:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
mkdir supabase-project<\/span><\/pre>\n
Resulting directory structure should look like this:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

 Copy the necessary Docker files:<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n
cp -rf supabase\/docker\/* supabase-project<\/span><\/pre>\n
 Copy the sample environment variables file:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
cp supabase\/docker\/.env.example supabase-project\/.env<\/span><\/pre>\n
 Navigate to the project directory:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
cd supabase-project

<\/span><\/pre>\n
At this stage, you need to change the default Supabase password to your own. To do this, edit the <\/span>.env<\/span> file:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
nano .env<\/span><\/pre>\n

In the opened <\/span>.env<\/span> file, find the following line:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
DASHBOARD_PASSWORD=...<\/span><\/pre>\n
Replace the default password with your own, save the changes, and close the editor.<\/span><\/p>\n
After that, continue with the installation:<\/span><\/p>\n
Pull the Docker images:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
docker compose pull<\/span><\/pre>\n
Start Supabase in detached mode:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
docker compose up -d<\/span><\/pre>\n
Wait until all Supabase services are fully up and running. Then, open your browser and go to:<\/span><\/p>\n
http:\/\/SERVER_IP:8000<\/span><\/pre>\n
Enter the username and password you specified in <\/span>.env<\/span> \u2014 you will then be taken to the Supabase dashboard.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
