{"id":20147,"date":"2026-06-05T16:44:52","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T13:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unihost.com\/help\/?p=20147"},"modified":"2026-06-05T16:55:26","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T13:55:26","slug":"installing-talos-os","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unihost.com\/help\/installing-talos-os\/","title":{"rendered":"Installing Talos OS"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">This post shows you how to install Talos OS on a virtual server using the installation script.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">For the script to work properly, you need an operating system based on Linux OS or a WSL virtual machine container running on Windows.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">Also, the remote server on which you plan to install the OS must already be booted into a rescue image and must have an SSH connection.<\/span><br \/><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">If all done, you need to download the script and run it<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\"><code>wget https:\/\/screen.unihost.com\/ml-post-install\/talos_os_installer.sh\r\nbash talos_os_installer.sh\r\n<\/code><\/span><\/pre>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">1. Once launched, the script will prompt you to enter the remote server&#8217;s address and its root password.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">You will then be asked to confirm the deletion of all data from the server. You must enter Y to agree.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">2. Once the script has prepared the Talos OS kernel and loaded the configuration file, you will see the message <strong>&#8220;!!!Please reboot the server!!!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">3. At this point, you need to manually reboot the server using the server management module in your account dashboard.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu, sans-serif;\">4. After the system restarts, the script will continue configuring the cluster.
