Website\u2019s database backup<\/span><\/h2>\n

In order to make a backup of the database, you need to get access to it on the hosting control panel:<\/span><\/p>\n

Database backup via cPanel<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

  1. \n
      \n
    1. Open cPanel. You were given a link to it in one of the first emails from Unihost, right after you have sent the payment. It looks something like this: https:\/\/cpanel.example.com:2083\/<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Log into cPanel<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. Once you are on the dashboard, find the \u201cDatabases\u201d section and click on the \u201cphpMyAdmin\u201d. It will open the main page of the database manager.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. From left side window, select your WordPress database. The right side window will show you all the tables inside your WordPress database.<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. Click the ‘Export’ tab on the top set of tabs.<\/span><\/li>\n
          3. Ensure that the Quick option is selected, and click ‘Go’ and you should be prompted for a file to download. Depending on the database size, this may take a few minutes.<\/span><\/li>\n
          4. Save the file to your computer.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            WARNING: It\u2019s recommended to have three backup copies \u2014 on you HDD, in the cloud server (GoogleDrive, Microsoft OneDrive) and on the USB flash drive. Also, do not delete old copies unless you really have to.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Website files backup<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

            Database is great, but it does not contain images, music, video and other mediafiles from your website. To be honest, it\u2019s rather hard to lose them, but it is still recommended to have at least some sort of backup. For that:<\/span><\/p>\n

              \n
            1. Install an FTP-client. We recommend FileZilla.<\/span><\/li>\n
            2. Log into your FTP-server.<\/span><\/li>\n
            3. Open your FTP-server in one tab and the folder where you intend to put your backup in the other tab.<\/span><\/li>\n
            4. Copy all contents of your FTP in the backup folder.<\/span><\/li>\n
            5. Click \u201c\u041e\u041a\u201d once prompted.<\/span><\/li>\n
            6. Wait until the operation is complete.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
